Evolution of an art piece through time
Jerry Gretzinger started crafting a map in 1963 adding small features each day like houses, ponds, bridges, monuments and green areas eventually creating two thousand panels ever since. The meticulous work is a life-long achievement in the artistic sense because it shows the evolution of the work, dynamic and continuously evolving just like a real city through time. In a way the city shape takes place by the random use of a card system that Gretzinger invented and with each draw the next step for the expansion of the territory happens without following a particular pattern.
